Just writing the name of the restaurant is making our mouths water. This is one of those restaurants that you treat yourself to for something special. Anniversaries, birthday's, getting into your dream school, etc. I was introduced to this restaurant by a coworker when I was attending UC-Irvine. I walked in and the first thing that popped into my head was "geez - here we go with all the howty-towty people". I mean hello!! there was valet outside for godsake! The restaurant had beautiful decor and warm ambiance. So, I go to open the menu and it's one of those menu's where there's aren't even any cents written. In small writing all you see is 29, 35, 38, market price, etc. At this point I was already nervous because I was thinking what I got my self into. I didn't want to spend 40 dollars on lunch.

My friend told me to order the Hawaiian Ribeye Steak and I like my steak well-done (because I don't like a bloody steak). So this steak arrives and it came with 2 sides (yummy vegies and mashed potatoes), I go to cut the steak and I put the first bite into my mouth......MY GOODNESS!! It was like a little piece of heaven in my mouth. It was the most amazing and tender steak I have ever had in my life. It was so succulent and flavorful. I never finish a whole dinner, however I did not leave any piece of that steak on the plate. I was hooked after this visit to the place. Now I make every excuse to go back there. Me and the hubby went back for my birthday one time (again I had the Hawaiian Ribeye) the hubby ordered a cheeseburger and mind you, this was no ordinary cheeseburger. The burger patty was tender, flavorful, succulent and was accented beautifully with their yummy, yummy shoestring fries. We also started the meal off with their chilli, which was also served nice and hot. Basically, anything that we say about Houston's is not enough. This is one of those restaurants that is just such a yummy place to treat yourself and a loved one.

The service is also so wonderful at this place (and you would hope so right? after paying 40 bucks for lunch). I remember, when the hubby took me for my birthday, they were nice enough to come out with a candle in my dessert.

The Lowdown:
Cost: $ $ $ $
Atmosphere: * * * *
Service: * * * *
Food: * * * * *

Overall: * * * *1/2

Final Words: This is an amazing restaurant, but not one to make a habit out of if you're on a budget.
